Lots of young people hit bumps in the road. Sometimes fairly minor and at other times more serious. Managing challenges such as depression, anxiety, panic, obsessions and compulsions, irrational anger, eating disorders, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorders, personality disorders and substance use. These issues can have a wider impact such as school refusal, withdrawal from friends or activities previously enjoyed, conflict in relationships, impulsive or aggressive behaviour, self-harm or suicidal ideation, poor sleep and falling grades at school. Issues that can affect the dynamics of the whole family. Sometimes young people are traumatised by life experiences such as being bullied, witnessing scary events, or grief and loss. Perhaps they need some extra support to deal with things they have experienced or witnessed. Mental Health Matters Counselling provides intervention and support for the young person and/or whole family, and particularly where relationships are strained.
